7. Mounting and putting into operation
The surveillance camera may only be installed by a qualified technician who is familiar with the
relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical wiring regulations).
Improper work carried out at the mains voltage endangers not only your life but also the life of
others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it yourself but ask a
qualified technician.
The surveillance camera must be protected, on the sub-distribution board, by a 10/16A fuse.
An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this, (FI protective switch).
The surveillance camera must be voltage-free during installation. It is not sufficient to just turn off the
light switch!
Turn the power off and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off the circuit breaker. Assure it against
an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
Check that the mains connection is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
The surveillance camera can be installed indoors or in protected outdoor areas. The latter
means that the surveillance camera may not be exposed to direct rainfall. Instead, it must
be installed underneath a protruding roof or similar.
For the installation site, use a sufficiently elevated place at a height of 2-4 meters and point
the camera downwards.
Before installing the surveillance camera, observe the legal regulations. Prior
to installation, inform yourself whether the surveillance of the monitored area
and the recording of images is admissible.
Experiment with some test recordings to determine the exact position of the camera. For
this purpose, also see chapter 12. b).
Keep a sufficient distance to radiated surfaces (at least 1m); otherwise there is danger of fire! Never
direct the light beam onto flammable or easily flammable objects.
Do not mount the surveillance camera on easily flammable surfaces! Make sure there is as great a
distance as possible to such materials. The back of the lamp also gets very hot during operation. Danger
of fire! In addition, heat may discolour the installation surface.
The attachment bar can be removed for easier installation by removing the two screws and nuts to the left and the
right of the lamp (observe the position of the washers).
The relatively high weight of the surveillance camera requires a correspondingly stable installation, e.g. on a wall.
Use suitable screws and dowels and make sure that no cables, pipes and lines are damaged during drilling and
attaching!
