11. PC connection
• The minimum requirement for operation is Windows XP/Vista
• Switch the weather station on and connect the mini USB port (14) of the weather station with a suitable cable with
a free USB 2.0 port on your computer.
Of course, you can also establish the connection with a USB1.1 port. However, the transmission speed
for data is lower than with USB2.0.
• Windows detects new hardware and installs the drivers (contained in Windows).
• Now you can use the memory card slots (and also the internal 128MByte memory) like a standard USB2.0 car
reader. Windows automatically assigns the drive letters.
If you connect a USB memory stick to the USB socket (13) of the weather station, this is also displayed by Windows
(integrated USB2.0 hub in the weather station).
You can now read or write data of the internal memory or memory cards/USB memory sticks as accustomed.
You cannot use any operating functions of the weather station while it is connected to the computer!
Prior to disconnecting the USB connection, terminate all read/write operations on the internal memory
or memory cards or USB stick. Otherwise this may lead to a loss of data.
With Windows XP/Vista, a small arrow icon appears in the menu bar (" "), which serves to tell
Windows to disconnect the connection to the USB device. The current data transmissions are
terminated and you can then safely remove the device.
Please note that it is not possible to transfer data from the weather station to the PC.
