Notes on the Rechargeable Battery
Although the built-in rechargeable lead battery is maintenance-free for you, its service life
depends on the mode of operation and usage. A deep discharge can damage the rechargeable
battery. Therefore, please completely recharge the rechargeable battery of the lamp at least
every 2 to 3 months.
The rechargeable battery of the lamp is usually spent when delivered. Please
refer to the section “Initial Operation”.

Initial Operation
The rechargeable battery is usually spent at delivery, the rechargeable battery lamp cannot be
switched on, the fluorescent tubes flicker when being switched on etc.
Therefore, please switch off the lamp (switch to “OFF”) and connect it to the mains voltage for
about 24 hours, so that the rechargeable battery is charged up completely.
Set-up with Base or Wall Mounting
• The base included in the delivery has to be pushed in at the bottom until it is locked in place.
Pull apart the base, so that the lamp stands securely.
To remove the base from the lamp, unlock the mounting clip, for example with your
fingernail. Afterwards, the base can be removed again.
• The openings for mounting the lamp on a wall are located on the back. The lamp can be wall-
mounted in horizontal or vertical position.
Let some millimetres of the screws protrude from the wall, so that the lamp can easily be
attached.
When drilling or tightening the screws, be careful not to damage any power
supply lines, gas or water pipes!
Use suitable screws and, if necessary, wall plugs. Since the lamp is very heavy,
it should be fastened firmly. Not only can the lamp be damaged when falling, but
there is also a risk of injury.
Make sure that the mains cable is not bent, jammed or damaged by sharp edges.
A cable duct is located at the side of the cable compartment for wall mounting.
