Operation

a)

Inserting the filter

1.

To insert the selected filter in the porta-filter, align the notch on the filter with the groove

inside the porta-filter.

2.

Turn the filter to the left or right to lock in place. This will help to secure the filter inside the

porta-filter.

b)

Before first use

To ensure an optimal coffee flavour, rinse the coffee maker with warm water as follows:

1.  Pull out the water tank, pour water into the water tank (the water level should not exceed

the “MAX” mark in the tank), and then insert it into the coffee maker. Note: The appliance is

supplied with a removable tank for easy cleaning. The tank can be filled with water before

being inserted into the appliance.

2.  Place the steel mesh into the metal funnel (with no coffee in the steel mesh), and then place

the metal funnel under the metal funnel holder (see Figure 1) and turn it anticlockwise until

it is fixed tightly in place (see Figure 2 and Figure 3).

3.  Place an espresso cup on the drip plate and make sure the steam knob is at the “O” position.

Note: The appliance does not include a cup or jug.

4.  Connect to the power source and then press the ON/OFF button “

” to turn on the unit.

The power indicator (red) will illuminate.

5.  Press the pump control button “

” to pump water. To turn off the pump, press the pump

control button “

 ” again.

6.  Make sure the coffee/steam button “

” is at the higher position and wait for a moment.

The appliance will start preheating. The coffee indicator (green) will turn on when preheating

is complete.

7.  Press the pump control button “

” again, and water will flow out.

8.

After the water has flowed for around 1 minute, press the pump control button “

 ”.

You can then pour out the water in each cup and clean thoroughly to prepare ready for

brewing.

Note: The  appliance  may  make  a  noise  when  pumping  water  for  the  first  time. This  is

normal, as the appliance is releasing air. The noise will stop after around 20 seconds.

c) Preheating

To make a cup of Espresso coffee, it is recommended to preheat the appliance before making

the coffee, including the funnel and cup, so that the coffee flavour will not be influenced by the

unheated parts of the appliance.
1.

Remove the water tank and fill it with the desired amount of water (the water level should

be between the “MAX” mark and the “MIN” mark in the tank). Then insert the tank back into

the appliance.

2.  Place the steel mesh into the metal funnel (with no coffee in the steel mesh), and then place

the metal funnel under the metal funnel holder (see Fig.1) and turn it anticlockwise until it is

fixed tightly in place (see Fig.2 and Fig.3).

3.  Place an espresso cup on the removable cup shelf.
4.  Connect the appliance to the power supply, making sure the steam knob is at the “O”

position.

5.  Press the ON/OFF button “

” to turn on the unit. The power indicator (red) will turn on.

Make sure the coffee/steam button “

” is at the higher position.

6.  Press the pump control button “

” so it is at the lower position. When water begins to

flow, turn off the pump immediately by pressing the pump control button “

 ” again so

it is at the higher position. The purpose of this step is to pump the water from the tank into

the housing.

7.  When the coffee indicator (green) turns on, press down the pump control button “

 ”

again. Hot water will begin to flow.

8.

After water has flowed for 20 seconds,  press the pump control button “

 ” and the

preheating process is now complete.

d) Making an espresso coffee

1.  Remove the funnel by turning it clockwise.
2.  Add ground coffee to the steel mesh with a measuring spoon (one spoon of ground coffee

power per cup of coffee), and then press the ground coffee powder tightly with the tamper.

3.  Set the steel mesh into the metal funnel and then place the metal funnel under the metal

funnel holder (see Fig.1) and turn it anticlockwise until it is fixed tightly (see Fig.2 and Fig.3).

4.  Pour out the hot water from the cup and place a hot beverage cup on the removable cup

shelf.

5.  Make sure the steam knob is at the “O” position and the coffee/steam button “

 ” is at

the higher position.

6.  When the coffee indicator (green) turns on, press the pump control button “

 ” to the

lower position and wait for a moment until coffee starts to flow.

7.  When the desired amount of coffee has been obtained or the colour of the coffee weakens

considerably, press and release the pump control button “

 ”to the higher position.

8.

When  you  have  finished  making  coffee,  press  the  ON/OFF  button  “

 ”. The power

indicator and coffee indicator will turn off and the coffee maker will stop working. Your coffee

is now ready to drink.
WARNING: Do not leave the coffee maker unattended while making coffee, as manual

operation may be required.
Note: When brewing coffee or making steam, the coffee indicator may turn off. This is

normal and means that the appliance is heating up to keep the temperature within the

required range.

9.  To remove the metal funnel, turn it clockwise and then pour out the coffee residue by

pressing the steel mesh with the press bar.

10. Allow the parts to cool down completely and then rinse under running water.
