Safety and Hazard Notices

The warranty will be voided in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! Liability for any and all consequential damage is
excluded!

We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases
the guarantee will be voided.

• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible because of

safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product!

• The product is not suitable for children under 3 years of age, it contains batteries that could be

swallowed.

• The fish is suitable for operation under water. The max. diving depth is about 1m. When used

in deeper water, the gaskets are overloaded, thus causing water seepage.

The transmitter is water-proof, but should not be submerged.

• It can be damaged by being dropped, even from a low height.

• Use the fish in clear, clean water only. Otherwise, you loose visual contact with the fish which can

result in the loss of it. The fish could be caught in aquatic plants or similar and the propeller could
be blocked.

• Do not impede the drive; do not move it manually. It could damage the mechanics!

Batteries and rechargeable batteries

• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. A change of batteries/rechar-

geable batteries must be carried out by adults only.

• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying about openly. There is a risk that the bat-

teries can be swallowed by children or pets. In such a case, seek instant medical attention!

• Batteries or rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fire.

There is a risk of explosion!

• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause burns if they come into con-

tact with the skin. For this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.

• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of fire and explosion! Only charge recharge-

able batteries, which are intended for this purpose; use suitable rechargeable battery chargers.

• Please observe correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting batteries/rechargeable

batteries.

• In case of longer periods of non-use (e.g. during storage) remove the inserted batteries/rechar-

geable batteries to avoid damage by a leaking battery/rechargeable batteries.

Charge the batteries about every 3 months in order to avoid a total discharge of the recharge-
able batteries which would make them useless.

• Always replace all the batteries or rechargeable batteries. Do not mix full batteries/recharge-

able batteries with half-full ones Always use batteries or rechargeable batteries of the same
type and manufacturer.

• Never mix batteries with rechargeable batteries! Either use batteries or rechargeable batteries.

• The operation of the product with rechargeable batteries instead of batteries is possible.

Due to the low voltage(batteries = 1.5V, rechargeable batteries = 1.2 V) the operating time is,
however, reduced. The rechargeable batteries in the fish might not be fully recharged if the
charging station is used with rechargeable batteries.

Thus, we recommend to use the charging station only with batteries.

Overall 6 batteries of type AA/Mignon (e.g. Conrad item number 652506, to be ordered twice)
are required.

Inserting batteries into charging station transmitter, Change of
Batteries

• Open the battery case of the charging station. The lid of the battery case is secured with a

screw; unscrew it first of all.

• Insert 6 batteries from type AA/Mignon with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).

• Fit the lid of the battery case correctly (only one orientation is correct) and firmly screw it on

again.

• Open the battery case of the transmitter. The lid of the battery case is secured with a srew,

unscrew it first of all.

• Insert a 9V block battery observing the correct polarity (po and negative/-). A cloth strip

helps you to remove the battery easily at a later time.

• Fit the lid of the battery case correctly (only one orientation is correct) and firmly screw it on again.

Make sure that the gasket sits correctly and that the cloth strip, which helps you to remove the
battery, is not inadvertently clamped in the gasket (water could intrude into the battery case).

Changing the batteries of the charging station is necessary if the the rechargeable
battery in the fish is no longer charged appropriately; changing the batteries of the
transmitter is necessary if the LED in the transmitter is no longer lighting or the range
of the transmitter is only small.

To dispose of the used batteries/rechargeable batteries, consult the chapter
“Disposal”.

Charging the Fish

• A NiMH rechargeable battery is firmly integrated in the fish (2.4V, 200mAh). It can be rechar-

ged with the included charging station.

Dry the fish thoroughly before opening the lock of the charge socket.

• Open the lock by turning it anti-clockwise, e.g. with a suitable coin. If you inserted trim weights

(see section „Trimming“ below) observe that they do not fall off and get lost when removing the
lock.

• Connect the charger cable with the socket in the fish.

• The fish can be placed on two racks, which can be inserted into the charging station.

• Briefly press the „CHARGE” button. The charge LED lights up, the rechargeable battery in the

fish is charging.

Check the batteries’ condition in the charging station if the LED does not light up and
exchange them if necessary.

Check if the plug of the charger cable sits correctly in the socket in the fish.

The charging duration is ca. 10 minutes if the rechargeable battery is fully low, longer for first
use.

• Disconnect the charging cable frome the fish and screw the lock tightly, after the LED of the

charging station has gone out.

Observe now that eventually inserted trim weights do not get lost.

Trimming

It is possible to insert little trim weights (metal shims) into the closing lid of the charge socket of
the fish.

This makes sense so that the fish does not sink when the drive is switched off or sinks when
diving. An adjustment is necessary because the diversity in the weight of the different brands of
batteries and rechargeable batteries.

Adjust the trim so that the fish has an easy drive. In case of reception problems or in case of a
weak battery, the fish comes to the surface on its own. You can check the trim before driving the
fish in a swimming pool for ex. or in a sufficiently big bucket.

Otherwise, the fish sinks onto the bottom of the swimming pool or the watercourse and gets lost.

Attention!

Trying to recover a sunken fish represents a danger to life through drowning! Never
dive in unfamiliar waters! In a swimming pool, let an experienced swimmer recover
the sunken fish if you are an inexperienced swimmer or a non-swimmer!

Getting Started, Operation

• Carefully place the fish in the water (do not throw it in!); direct the front side of the fish so that

it points in the direction of open water.

• The three keys „

S

“, „

G

“ and „

D

“ serve to move the fish forward and to the left and right.

The fish moves towards the right and towards the left via the different steering moves, exactly
like a real fish.

• Diving or emersion procedures can be carried out via the “+” and “-” keys of the transmitter.

The small inner screw propeller in the head of the fish functions.

• Take the fish out of the water to finish operation.

• Afterwards, clean the outer surface of the fish and the transmitter; dry both parts completely.

Handling

• Do not have the fish swim in the direction of people or animals; there is danger of injury involved.

Furthermore, dogs could try to catch the fish (the fish will be destroyed, in addition to injury/
poisoning hazard for the dog).

• Never move the drive manually.

• Do not throw the fish into the water; place it in the water slowly and carefully.

• Do not pull the fins, they might break. The material of the outer surface of the fish is very sen-

sitive; protect the fish from sharp objects.

• Never use the product in salty waters (danger of corrosion).

Maintenance and Cleaning

Do not disassemble the product (except for the replacement of the batteries of charging station
and transmitter); there are no serviceable parts inside the product.

Clean the fish and the remote control with a clean, soft cloth. Do not use detergents as the latter
could damage and discolour the synthetic material.

Disposal

a) General
