Intended use
This camera is intended for video monitoring and protecting secluded or critical areas (e.g.
entrance areas, stairwells).
The camera provides an AHD image signal and can therefore only be connected to a digital
recorder suitable for this purpose.
The camera is only intended to be used with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC.
The camera is suitable for use in indoor and outdoor areas (IP65).
Please bear in mind that it is prohibited by law to observe strangers with a camera without
their knowledge and consent. Observe the rules and regulations of the country where you are
using the camera.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times!
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves
risks such as short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or
converted!
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of

Safety instructions
The warranty/guarantee will be void in the event of damage caused by failure
to observe these operating instructions! We do not assume any liability for
any resulting damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. It should be
operated out of the reach of children.
• The camera is only intended to be used with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC.
• The camera is suitable for use in indoor and outdoor areas (IP65). However, it
must never be used in or under water, as this will destroy it.
The plugs on the camera’s connection cable are not waterproof or water resistant
and must therefore be placed in a dry indoor area (for example, in a suitable con-
nection box).
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
• The use of this camera does not replace the personal supervision of children or
people who require special assistance, but serves only as a support to this super-
vision.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a digital recorder), the operating
instructions and safety notes for these devices must also be followed.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical department or another specialist.
Information about AHD
The camera provides an analogue high-definition video signal (AHD = “Analogue High Defini-
tion”). This signal is uncompressed and not delayed. However, a special digital recorder is
required for displaying and recording of the images.
A direct display of images on a common monitor (e.g. as used with common cameras with
analogue CVBS-PAL video signal) is not possible (a monitor with direct AHD video input is
currently not available). Therefore, you require an AHD digital recorder to which the monitor
must be connected.
The existing coax cable can still be used. Hence, it is sufficient to replace the “old” CVBS cam-
eras and the CVBS digital recorder with AHD cameras and an AHD digital recorder.
At the time of preparing these operating instructions, it was possible to the switch
the camera between AHD and CVBS operation. To do this, the control cross must be
pressed for 3 seconds to the right (label “R” next to the D-pad) when the operating
voltage is switched on.
Future versions of the camera may not include this switching feature so that only the
AHD video signal is available.
Important:
A suitable digital recorder supporting AHD is required to record the AHD video
signal of the camera. Otherwise, only a strongly distorted and hardly visible
image signal is visible! However, the camera is not defective!
If the video input of the digital recorder can be switched between AHD and CVBS,
always use the correct operating mode.
Assembly
• First, loosen the three small headless screws on the outside of the wall bracket so that it can
be removed.
• First, mark the installation position on the wall through the corresponding bore holes in the
wall bracket, if you need to drill holes to secure the wall bracket.
Also, if necessary, drill a hole large enough to pass the connection cable through.
Please ensure that no cables or wires are damaged when drilling.
Select the installation location so it is protected against attempts to tamper with the camera.
For this reason, the camera should be mounted at a minimum height of 2.5 m.
• Either run the connection cable from the side of the wall bracket or run it through an existing
hole in the wall, where you want to mount the wall bracket.
Protect the plug against dust and dirt, e.g. with a small plastic bag.
If the connection cable is too short (depending on the wall thickness or installation
position), use a suitable connection box mounted near the camera.
Depending on where the camera is mounted, this connection box must be suitable
for outdoor installation. The cable connection for the video output or the power sup-
ply can then be placed in the connection box, also the housing with the setting knob,
which is located on the camera cable.
Lay the cable in such a way that it is protected against tampering, e.g. in a cable duct
or similar.
• Screw the wall bracket firmly in place. Use screws and, if necessary, screw anchors that are
suitable for the surface.
• Align the camera and the holding ring accordingly; position camera and holding ring on the
wall bracket.
Fixate the camera and the holding ring using the three headless screws.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors on the end.
• The AHD video signal is available through the BNC connector. Use a suitable adapter if you
cannot use the BNC video cable. Connect the camera to a suitable digital recorder that is
compatible with AHD cameras.
• The camera is connected to the external power supply via the round low-voltage plug (direct
current, 12 V/DC). A suitable round plug is needed for the connection, outer diameter 5.5 mm,
inner diameter 2.1 mm. The outer contact of the round plug should be Minus/”-”, the inner
contact Plus/”+”.
The camera will be damaged if it is not connected correctly or if it is connected to the
wrong voltage; loss of warranty!
If you install and use the camera in outdoor areas, the two connectors must be placed in a
location that is protected from moisture. If this is not observed, the connectors will corrode!
