IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when
children are present, basic safety precautions should
always be taken, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE OPERATING
APPLIANCE
DANGER –
Any appliance is
electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always unplug appliance immediately
after using.
2. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall
or be pulled into a tub or sink.
3. Do not place in, or drop into water
or other liquid.
4. If an appliance falls into water, unplug it
immediately. Do not reach into the water.
WARNING –
To reduce the risk of
burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:
1. This appliance should never be left
unattended when plugged in.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this
appliance is used by or near children, or
individuals with certain disabilities. Unsupervised
use could result in fire or personal injury.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as
described in this manual. Do not use attachments
not recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged
cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it
has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into
water. Do not attempt to repair the appliance.
Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk
of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when
the appliance is used. Return the appliance to an
authorized service center for examination and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do
not allow cord to contact heated surfaces. Do not
pull or twist cord. Let appliance cool completely
before putting away. Loop cord loosely around
appliance when storing.
6. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do
not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
7. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
8. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol
(spray) products are being used or where oxygen
is being administered.
9. Do not use an extension cord to operate appliance.
10. Surfaces of this appliance may be hot when in
use. Do not let heated surfaces touch eyes or
bare skin.
11. Do not place the steam nozzle directly on any
surface or on the appliance power cord while it is
hot or plugged in.
12. Unplug this appliance before filling or emptying.
Do not overfill.
13. While emitting steam, this appliance may cause
burns if it is used too close to the skin, scalp or
eyes, or if it is used incorrectly. To reduce the
risk of contact with hot water coming from steam
vents, test appliance before each use by holding
it away from body.
14. Do not operate steamer without properly filling
the water container.
15. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet;
instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
16. Burns could occur from touching hot parts, hot
water, or steam. Use care when you turn a steam
appliance upside down – there may be hot water
in reservoir.
17. To reduce likelihood of circuit overload, do not
operate another high wattage appliance on the
same circuit.
18. When installing or removing attachment, please
be sure the unit is off and no steam is being
released to avoid contact with hot water.
19. Use caution when installing or removing
attachment as it may contain hot water from
condensation. Ensure the attachment is dry or
cooled off to avoid contact with hot water.
DUAL VOLTAGE
This is a 120/240V dual voltage appliance and may
be used in the United States and abroad without an
electricity converter.
An adapter plug (not included) may be necessary
when using this appliance in some foreign countries.
If so, plug the steamer into correct adapter plug for
your location and plug assembly into electrical outlet.
NOTE:
This unit is thermostatically protected to shut
off when water has boiled away. You should unplug the
unit before this occurs because surfaces continue to
heat, which could be hazardous and may damage unit.
Before using the garment steamer for the first time, it is
recommended to operate the steamer for approximately
5 minutes, unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Empty
container and refill before actually using.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
HOW TO USE
1. Be sure garment steamer is unplugged.
2. Release handle by pushing red button.
3. While holding main body of steamer, twist steamer
head counterclockwise and lift it to remove.
4. Fill reservoir with ordinary tap water to max fill
line.
DO NOT OVERFILL.
5. Replace steamer head on steamer body, twisting
clockwise into locked position.
6. If steam is spitting or dripping, this indicates that
there may be too much water in the unit. For the
best performance, we strongly recommend filling
the reservoir with less water.
7. Attach brush accessory to steamer if desired.
(Please refer to brush attachment section.)
8. Place appliance on a flat surface in an upright
position. Plug into electrical outlet.
9. Within a few minutes, the unit will begin to emit a
continuous flow of steam from the steam vents. The
garment steamer is now ready to use.
10. Hold steamer by its handle when using. Do not
grasp body of unit while steaming garments or while
unit is hot.
11. Direct the flow of steam toward garment to remove
wrinkles. Do not touch fabric with steam head. However,
do not tilt steamer upward as hot water may leak.
DECALCIFICATION
If the appliance begins to produce steam more slowly
than usual, if the steamer stops producing steam
and then starts again, you may need to decalcify
your steamer. Decalcification refers to removing the
calcium deposits which form over time on the metal
parts of the Steamer. For best performance from
Conair Garment Steamer, decalcify the unit from time
to time. The frequency depends upon the hardness of
your tap water and how often you use the Steamer.
Note: To reduce or eliminate the occurrence of
mineral build - up, we recommend the use of
de-mineralized or distilled water in the unit.
To decalcify, use a solution of
1
/
3
white vinegar and
2
/
3
water in the water container. Plug the unit into
electrical outlet. Turn to the ON position and run
until half the amount has steamed. Turn the unit to
the OFF position, unplug from electrical outlet, and
allow to sit for 30 minutes.
Remove excess water from the reservoir by lifting the
unit, inverting and pouring the water over sink, and
allowing water to drain from internal reservoir.
Repeat the above procedure as many times as
necessary until a normal steam rate returns, usually 2-3
times. With each repeated cycle, use a fresh solution of
vinegar and water. Run one cycle of fresh, cold water
through the unit at the completion of decalcification,
before using the unit again to steam garments.
BRUSH ATTACHMENT
Your garment steamer includes a brush attachment
for extra grooming and care of all your clothes.
The brush helps the steam penetrate the fabric by
separating the fibers. You can use the steamer to
effectively remove wrinkles with or without using
the brush attachment. Do not attempt to attach or
remove the brush attachment while unit is steaming
or hot. Wait until unit is completely cool. Place the
brush onto the steamer head by simply pushing the
brush onto the front of the steamer head. The wider
portion of the brush attachment should be toward the
bottom of the unit.
TO STEAM GARMENTS OR DRAPES
1. Hang up garment/drapery.
2. Gently hold fabric taut with one hand and hold
steamer with the other hand. Hold steamer near
the garment/drapery so that steam is directed
toward it.
Use only in vertical position.
3. Slowly run the steam head up and down and side
to side. To remove stubborn wrinkles, move the
garment steamer very slowly.
TO MAKE CREASES OR PLEATS
1. Hang garment.
2. Fold fabric where crease or pleat is desired. Hold fold
in place while applying steam directly to fold.
TO STEAM TIES
1. Hang tie on hanger.
2. Apply steam directly to tie.
TO STEAM SHOULDERS AND SLEEVES
1. Hang garment, preferably on a padded hanger.
2. Fill out shoulders or sleeves with folded towel.
3. Apply steam to garment.
