
E. AP Mode Installation Guide
In order to build a wireless networking environment, switch the WAP-5883 to
(AP) mode and connect it to your wired router or switch.
Setup via WPS button:
(1) Insert the WAP-5883 into a power outlet on the wall and switch to ‘
AP
’
mode.
(2) Use an Ethernet cable to connect the extender to the Ethernet port of your
router or networking switch.
Note: In AP mode, when you try to make a connection with a wireless client
using WPS, push the WPS button
twice
on this device within 5 seconds and
the ‘
WPS
’ LED will start flashing.
Switch to ‘
AP
’ mode.
Plug the WAP-5883 into a
power outlet on the wall, and
flip the power switch to ‘
ON
’ (1).
You should see the ‘
Power
’
LED light up in a few seconds
(2). If not, check if the power
outlet you’re using is working.
Use your computer’s wireless
configuration utility to search
for the access point named
‘
comtrend
’ to get connected.
