Care advice
Cleaning the housing
•
Note:
Unplug the iron from the wall socket before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior with a moist, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents
or solvents.
•
Note:
Do not scratch the soleplate – do not slide it over metal items such as
buttons or zips.
After use
Warning:
The iron is very hot directly after use. Remember to let it cool off completely
before putting it away for storage.
• Unplug the mains lead from the wall socket.
• Empty the water tank by turning the iron upside down and pouring the water out
whilst moving it back and forth at the same time. Press the spray button a few
times to make sure the tank is completely empty.
• Store the iron in a dry place.
Self-cleaning
We recommend that you use the self-cleaning function at least once a month, possibly
more depending on the quality of the water in your area.
The self-cleaning function removes scale and dust particles from the water tank.
1. Fill the water tank to half full.
2. Turn the steam control knob (3) to the position.
3. Stand the iron upright.
4. Plug the mains lead into a wall socket.
5. Set the temperature to
MAX
by repeatedly pressing the temperature setting button (6).
6. Wait until the iron has reached the set temperature, i.e. the temperature indicator
light on the display has stopped flashing.
7. Unplug the mains lead from the wall socket.
8. Hold the iron over a sink and hold in the self-cleaning button until all the water
(and any deposits) and steam has come out through the holes in the soleplate.
Carefully shake the iron back and forth to loosen any scale or dirt deposits inside
the water tank.
9. Let the iron cool down and then iron a spare piece of cotton fabric. This will clean
the face of the soleplate from any remaining scale and dirt deposits.
