Care and maintenance
Cleaning
- Clean the coffee maker after use.
- Unplug the coffee maker and let cool before cleaning.
- Wash the glass carafe, filter basket and permanent filter in warm water and a small
amount of dishwashing liquid. Never use strong solvents to clean parts.
Decalcifying
Decalcify the coffee maker roughly every 3rd or 4th month (depending on your water
hardness) to maintain the best results. Excessive steam and a prolonged brewing time
let you know that it is time to decalcify your machine.
1. Fill the water reservoir with 1 dl vinegar and 4 dl water.
2. Close the water reservoir lid and place the carafe on the warming plate.
3. Switch on the coffee maker and allow all the liquid to pass through the machine.
4. Switch off the coffee maker and allow it to cool 10-15 minutes.
5. Repeat this procedure once again with vinegar and water.
6. Finish by running a few brewing cycles with water alone to rinse the coffee maker.
Note! To keep in mind when handling the glass carafe
- The glass carafe is intended to be used with this coffee maker only. Never use it in
an oven, microwave, on a stove etc.
- Do not set the hot glass carafe on a cold or moist surface.
- Do not use the glass carafe when damaged or if it has a loose or missing handle.
- Do not clean glass carafe with strong cleaning agents, steel wool or other abrasive
material.
- Remove the carafe from the warming plate if contents have boiled dry.
- Handle the glass carafe carefully so that it does not scratch thus weakening it.
