7.CONTROL AND PARTS FUNCTIONS
4 Wheel Drive System (4WD)
4 wheel drive ATVs are equipped with a manual shift. The
selector is located on the right side of the vehicle directly under
the gear selector. The selector lever has two positions: 2WD;
4WD. 4WD indicator will light when the front drive be engaged.
NOTE:
When shift to the 2WD position from 4WD, the engagement shaft
would return to the disengaged position but the 4WD would still
be engaged, the 4WD would finally disengage when rides on a
hard surface or rides in reverse. The 4WD indicator light will
come off when the 4WD disengage.
If the 4WD remain engaged after following these instructions,
take the ATV to your dealer for inspection and service.
Engage the 4WD before getting into conditions where 4WD may
be needed.
CAUTION
:
To change drive system, stop the vehicle and with the engine
idling, move the lever to desired position. Shifting while the
vehicle is moving or the rear wheels are spinning could cause
transmission and drive system damage.
NOTE:
The heavy steering of the 4WD is normal.
