Data Matrix Symbol Quality Verification

Cognex DataMan 7500 Series handheld verifiers ensure that a Data Matrix

symbol meets the AIM DPM (Direct Part Mark) Quality Guideline.

The DataMan 7500 Series handheld verifiers provide:

Contract Compliance: The DataMan 7500 Series software, integrated

lighting, and fixed optics meet the AIM DPM Quality Guideline.

System Calibration: The DataMan 7500 Series verifier includes a certi-

fied calibration card necessary to calibrate the reader.

If you are upgrading an existing DataMan 7500 series reader to use as a

verifier, your reader must be using firmware version 2.1.1 at a mini-

mum. To update the firmware:

Connect your reader to the DataMan Setup Tool.

Choose

System->Update Firmware

Select the file

DM7xx0_v2.._rc.bin.gz

 from the directory

Cognex\DataMan\Firmware\DM7500 Series

To enable the DPMV feature, you must upload a feature key file to the

reader:

Connect the reader to the DataMan Setup Tool.

Choose

System->Upload Feature Key

Select the feature key file that you receive from Cognex.

Disconnect the reader from the DataMan Setup Tool.
