13. You can select the desired coffee strength with the
Kaffeestärke
(Coffee strength) button.
You can choose from three strengths: mild, moderate and strong.
14. Push the
An/Aus
(On/Off) button to turn the device on. A coffee cup symbol will appear
on the display indicating that the brewing process has started.
15. The grinding process will start as soon as you press the
An/Aus
(On/Off) button. The brew-
ing process automatically starts after the grinding process.
16. Once the brewing process is complete, a beep is emitted and the coffee cup symbol will blink
on the display. Please keep in mind that the brewing process is only complete when no more
water
fl
ows out of the spout!
17. After the brewing process, you can take the glass pot off of the heating plate and serve the
coffee.
18. The heating plate will stay on for approximately 2 hours after the brewing process and then
automatically deactivates. The coffee cup symbol blinks continually on the display during
this time. When the heating plate turns off, you will hear a signal tone and the coffee cup
symbol will disappear from the display.
19. If you would like to turn off the coffee maker before the 2 hours have passed, push the
An/Aus
(On/Off) button.
20. After use, clean the device as described in the chapter “Care and decalcifying”.
The coffee maker has a drip guard valve. You can also take the glass pot off of the heat-
ing plate during the brewing process and pour yourself a cup of coffee. But please keep
in mind: You should place the glass pot back on the heating plate within 20 seconds to
prevent the coffee

lter from over
fl
owing!
Brewing coffee with coffee powder
1. Remove the water tank by pulling it up and out of the coffee
maker.
2. Flip open the water tank cover.
3. Add the desired amount of water to the water tank. The water level gauge indicates how
many cups of water you have added to the water tank. Always
fi
ll the water tank at least up
to the
MIN
mark and no more than up to the
MAX
mark.
4. Then close the water tank cover.
5. Put the water tank back in the device.
6. Open
the
fi
lter compartment by pushing the release button for the
fi
lter compartment.
7. Place
the
fi
lter compartment insert and the permanent
fi
lter in the
fi
lter compartment. Op-
tionalle a conventional size-4 paper
fi
lter can be used. Make sure that all parts have been
inserted correctly; otherwise the coffee maker will not start the brewing process.
8. Add the coffee powder to the
fi
lter and close the
fi
lter compartment.
9. Place the glass pot on the heating plate.
