Before Initial Use
CAUTION!

Clean the device in the manner described in this chapter in order to remove any produc-
tion residues.

Also note all of the instructions in the "Using the coffee machine" chapter.

Keep children away from the packaging materials. There is a danger of suffocation, as well
as other hazards!

Make sure the power supply is disconnected when the device is not in use.
1. Unpack all parts and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items Supplied
and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If you
fi
nd any damage to the com-
ponents, do not use them (!), but contact our customer service department.
2. Remove any
fi
lms or stickers that may be present from the device.
3. Clean the coffee machine: Fill the water reservoir with drinking water up to the highest
mark, place the coffee jug on the hotplate and press the button (See the "Using the
Coffee Machine" chapter). Once the water has fully
fi
ltered through into the jug, pour it
away. Repeat this process a second time.
Remove the permanent
fi
lter and
fi
lter holder from the device and clean it as well as the
coffee jug and its lid thoroughly with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe down the
housing of the coffee machine with a clean, damp and soft cloth. Dry it with a soft cloth.
