10.0 - Adding a USB Reader to the CortexOPOS Device Manager

Open the
CortexOPOS™ Device Manager
.

Plug a reader into the computer USB port.

- The
Device Manager
will detect a connected
barcode reader and display the following prompts—
select
Yes
to continue.

- Devices can be set up as generic or specific.
a.
-
Generic
: Keep the
Generic device
checkbox
checked. To change the name of the device, modify
the text in the
Device Name field. Press Finish
to
save changes. A prompt box will appear asking the
user to confirm the changes—press Yes to confirm.

Specific
: Uncheck the
Generic device
check-
box. A list of connected devices will appear. High-
light the device you want to add and click
Apply
. A
prompt box will ask you to confirm—press Yes
.

- Once the reader has been added to the
CortexOPOS
™
Device Manager, the reader name
will appear in the
Device
list on the left.
10.6
- To delete a device, right-click on a device
name and select
Delete Device
. A prompt box will
appear asking the user to confirm the deletion—
press
Yes to confirm.
