Care and maintenance
If necessary, unplug the mains lead from the wall
socket, remove the 3 screws holding the cover plate
onto the base of the pump, then remove the 4 screws
holding the impeller housing and clean the inlet (8) of
any debris.
Screw the parts back on in reverse order, making sure
that the outlet on the impeller housing is on the same
side of the pump as the upper outlet.

Problem
Possible cause
Possible solution
The pump runs
but doesn’t
pump.
1. Air in pump, outlet
is blocked.
2. Air trapped in suction pipe.
3. Impeller is blocked.
4. When the pump starts
the water level falls to
below the minimum level.
1. Clean the hose, straighten any
kinks, etc.
2. Wait 60 seconds until the pump
is purged of air, switch it off
and then start it again.
3. Unplug the pump from
the power supply and remove
any debris from the water inlet.
4. Place the pump lower in
the water.
The pump won’t
start or stops
under load.
1. The thermal protection
device has tripped.
2. Wall socket is not live.
3. Dirt lodged in
the impeller housing.
1. Unplug pump and clean
the base and impeller housing.
Remember that the max liquid
temperature is 35 °C.
2. Check fuses and RCD, etc.
3. Unplug the pump from
the power supply and remove
any debris from the water inlet.
The pump runs
but the flow rate
falls suddenly.
Impeller is blocked.
Unplug the pump from the power
supply and remove any debris
from the water inlet.
Pump doesn’t
stop when water
level has fallen.
The float switch is prevented
from sinking.
Place the pump so that the float
switch can move freely.
