HARDTOP WITH MANUAL
SURESHADE
Your SureShade manual tele-frame shade utilizes a
patented, telescoping tubular framework to
automatically extend or retract canvas with a simple
hand lever.
Over time, your SureShade may require occasional
lubricating in order to keep the hand lever
functioning properly.
Follow the below steps to ensure your manual
shade system is maintained and fully functional for
years to come.
1. Use a lithium grease lubricant (such as WD-40)
to alleviate any cranking issues (extending or
retracting the shade with the hand lever) that
may occur over time with the manual shade.
2. On the port side canvas roller clamp, there is a
black plastic bushing where the roller shaft
turns. Add lubricant between the bushing and
the roller shaft.
3. If you are experiencing cranking issues, ensure
that the canvas is centered on the roller. The
canvas can shift over time and could also
contribute to difficulty in cranking the shade.
Transporting Your Boat
1. Ensure the shade is in the retracted (closed)
position.
2. The canvas should be wrapped with a
protective covering and strapped in place so
that road debris does not hit and damage the
canvas.
3. Covering the extending tubes is only needed if
the boat is facing a direction where water and
wind can enter the extending tubes of the
actuator in the travel direction of transport. The
extension of the shade should always face the
rear of the vehicle.
The quality marine-grade construction and
materials used for the sunshade systems ensure
springtime prep and maintenance is minimal for
boat owners. Proper winter preparation will help
make recommissioning your SureShade system in
the upcoming boating season as simple as
possible.
Winter Storage
Fully retract the shade and protect the unit with a
cover or shrink wrap during winter months.
It is not recommended to remove the canvas from
the roller due to the possibility of being replaced
incorrectly and subsequent damage to the roller.
The roller can stay on the framework as long as it's
properly protected with a cover or shrink wrap.
