NFORMATION
9. TACHOMETER (starboard engine) -
Registers
engine speed in RPM. Use these gauges to keep
the engine within the proper operating range.
Refer to the engine operator’s manual for correct
RPM specifications.
10. TRIM (Trim Gauge, port engine) -
This gauge
indicates the angle position of the port engine’s
outdrive relative to the position of the bow, up or
down when boat is on plane. Use this gauge in
combination with the trim switches located in the
throttle control.
11. TRIM (Trim Gauge, starboard engine) -
This
gauge indicates the angle position of the starboard
engine’s outdrive relative to the position of the bow,
up or down when boat is on plane. Use this gauge
in combination with the trim switches located in the
throttle control.
12. ACCESSORY (two switches) -
These switches
are available to operate switched accessory items.
BILGE PUMP -
“Bilge Pump 1” switch manually
controls the fore bilge pump. “Bilge Pump 2” switch
manually controls the aft bilge pump.
WIPER (Optional) -
This switch controls the wiper.
13. TRIM TAB SWITCHES / TRIM INDICATOR
(Optional) -
These switches control the trim angle
of the optional trim tabs. These used in conjunction
with the drive unit trim will maximize the
performance and ride of the boat. The indicators
display the relative position of the trim tabs.
14. DRIVE UNIT TRIM SWITCHES -
Drive Unit
Trim Switches control the trim angle of the drive
units. These switches will maximize the
performance and ride of the boat. If combined with
the optional trim tabs, more enhancement to
performance and ride can be achieved.
15. WINDLASS CONTROL (Optional) -
The
optional windlass system can be electronically
operated from the helm. For operation of the
windlass system, refer to
Section 3,
Anchoring
.
16. GAUGE MODE SWITCH -
Allows toggling of
LCD screen on speedometer.
17. UNDERWATER LIGHTING SWITCH
(Optional) -
Your boat may be equipped with
underwater lighting and the operating switch may
be located here. If not located under the dash, you
will find the switch in the transom area.
18. IGNITION SAFETY SWITCH
Your Cobalt boat is equipped with an ignition safety
switch located on the lower lip of the helm. The
ignition safety switch and lanyard will stop the
engine(s) in case of an emergency. Attach the
lanyard to the boat operator whenever the engine is
running, but be aware there will be a loss of boat
control if the switch is activated. If the operator is
thrown from the seat or moves too far from the
helm, the lanyard will become disconnected from
the ignition safety switch, shutting off the engines.

WARNING
Avoid death, serious injury or damage to
equipment. DO NOT allow your boat to
be operated without the proper use of
the ignition safety switch and lanyard.
