MAINTENANCE
CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
This unit is equipped with a mechanism which allows for easy
adjustment of the internal slip clutch setting if deemed necessary
during an annual hoist inspection. To adjust the slip clutch, complete
the following steps:
TO AVOID INJURY:
Ensure power to the hoist is disconnected prior to any
clutch adjustment.
TO AVOID INJURY:
The load limiter slip point should not exceed 1.6 times WLL of the unit.
MODELS: B, C, & F
1. Disconnect power to the unit.
2. Remove access port plug located next to the External
Chain Plate.
3. Insert adjustment tool (contact factory or CMCO post
sales customer support for p/n) in access port.
4. Align drive points of the adjustment tool with the respective

5. Turn the shaft CLOCKWISE to INCREASE clutch torque or
COUNTER CLOCKWISE to DECREASE clutch torque.
6. Reconnect power to the unit.
7. Check clutch slip torque. If desired slip point is not achieved,
repeat steps 1-5 taking care NOT to:
a. Slip clutch more than 3 continuous seconds.
b. Complete more than four clutch checks within a 10 minute
time period.
i. If additional clutch torque checks are required, allow the
unit to rest for 30 minutes after the last slip.
8. To prevent serious injury or damage to hoist and/or property,
clutch slip torque is not to exceed 1.6 times WLL of the unit.
9. Once desired slip point is reached, reinstall access port plug.
See table 11b for torque specification.
MODELS: J, JJ, L, LL, R, RR, & RRS
