Important
Please read and remember the following instructions before use to assure your own safety. Keep the
manual for future reference. The welding hood should be used for the purposes listed in this manual only.
1. Introduction
CleanAIR® ENYO is a compact leather hood, designed for welding, plasma cutting and grinding. The hood
covers the head completely and is therefore much more preferable when working overhead or in tight
spaces. The ENYO hood is certified in accordance with EN 166:2001 and EN 175:1997-0. The hood protects
the worker against harmful infrared/ultraviolet radiation and flying particles created in welding, plasma
cutting, grinding and similar processes.
2. Limitations on use
1. Welding arc damages unprotected eyes and can burn unprotected skin.
2. Please pay attention to checking the product before every use. Do not use it if any part is damaged.
3. Never use the hood in an environment that represents an immediate threat to the life and health.
4. Never use the hood if you are not sure, that shade number of your welding filter lens is suitable for
your work.
5. Replace the protection filter, or protection foils immediately, if damaged, or if spatter or scratches
reduce vision.
6. The hood does not protect against hard shocks, explosions or corrosive substances.
7. The worker has to follow all the local regulation related to specific working conditions.
8. Materials which may come into contact with the wearer’s skin could cause allergic reactions to sus-
ceptible individuals.
9. Corrective glasses worn under the protection visor can transmit impacts, thus creating additional risk
to the user.
10. Check the prescribed shade level for your welding application and adjust your auto-darkening filter
accordingly (see the table with recommended shade levels).
11. Never place the hood or the auto-darkening welding filter on a hot surface.
12. Use the hood only within the temperature range of 0°C to +60°C.
13. At temperatures approaching zero, the ADF can be less responsive.
14. Do not expose the auto-darkening welding filter to liquids and protect it from dirt.
3. Control and maintenance
Lifetime of the hood and visors is influenced by many factors such as: cold, heat, chemicals, sunlight or inco-
rrect use. The hood should be checked on a daily basis of possible damage of its inside or outside structure.
If any part of the device appears to be damaged, it is necessary to replace it or put entire product out of use.
Careful use and correct maintenance of welding hood enhances operating life and improves your safety!
Checking before use:
• Inspect that the protection plates are undamaged, clean and installed correctly. Replace lens
immediately, if it is damaged, or if spatter or scratches reduce vision.
• Inspect that the welding filter lens is undamaged and clean. The damaged welding filter lens impairs
protection and visibility and must be replaced immediately.
• Make sure that the shade number of welding filter lens is appropriate for your work (according to
„6. Filter shade number selection“).
• Inspect that the welding hood and headgear are undamaged.
• Ensure that the hood is correctly assembled and that it completely blocks any accidental light.
• Adjust the headgear to ensure maximum comfort and to provide the largest field of vision.
• Check the prescribed shade level for your welding application and adjust your auto-darkening filter
accordingly (see the table with recommended shade levels).
