Installation under Windows XP
Windows XP automatically identifies the controller card when the
computer is restarted and “Welcome to the guide new hardware” opens.
Click Cancel .
Insert the included CD in the computer’s CD-ROM reader, open
“explorer” and double-click
Setup to start the installation.
Click Next to continue.
In the next box you must approve the licence agreement for the
software program, mark “I accept” and klick
Next
.
Click Next to confirm.
Click
Next
to begin the installation.
Click Next to confirm.
The installation is now completed. Mark “Yes, I want to restart…” and
click
Finish
to restart the computer.
Configuration
After restarting an icon is displayed in the activity field. The configura-
tion program can be opened by right-clicking the icon in the activity field,
choose
Open Program .
A window with information and settings opens up.
Check that the card works properly by clicking:
My computer/Control
panel/System/Computer hardware/Device manager/SCSI and RAID
control unit
.
If the unit “VIA VT6421 RAID Controller” is displayed, the card has been
installed correctly.
Right-click and choose Properties to troubleshoot or configure.
