6. The spark plug may be dirty or gap is excessive. Clean it and have it tested.

7. Possible ignition fault...check for a spark by removing the spark plug and 

with the lead attached, crank the engine with the metal part of the plug 
held against bare metal. 

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TOUCH THE 

METAL PART OF THE PLUG. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. 

The spark plug must be 

known to be in good condition.

8. The ‘STOP’ button wire may be broken or become disconnected, creating 

a permanent STOP condition.

Should these checks not solve the problem consult your Clarke dealer.
