Safety Rules
Accumulators
DANGER!
Be especially careful when working on
the accumulators!
Accumulators are under high pressure!
With valve-controlled accumulators – as for example
on the Autopilot, Auto-Contour and on the concave
adjustment – first slacken off the short-circuit bolt
before carrying out any repair work on the accumula-
tor. This is necessary to relieve the hydraulic pressure.
The accumulators on the radial spreader and on the
standard spreader do not allow relieving the hydraulic
pressure using a valve. The unit in question must be
moved to a position where the hydraulic pressure is as
low as possible. However, residual oil pressure in the
lines cannot be excluded.
Relieving the Auto-Contour accumulator
Relieve the oil pressure from accumulator (D).
This is done as follows:
Slacken off lock nut and back off screw (S) slightly
until the oil pressure has been relieved. Then tighten
screw (S) again up to the stop and tighten lock nut.
