Using the Cisco TelePresence Conductor
After you have set the initial configuration of the Cisco TelePresence Conductor, the system is ready
to use. You can continue to use the serial connection to access and manage the Cisco TelePresence
Conductor, or you can connect to the system remotely over IP using either or both:
n
HTTPS (see "Using the web interface" below)
n
a command line interface via SSH (there is no tsh support on Cisco TelePresence Conductor)
For security reasons, you should change the passwords for the admin account and the
root account from the default of TANDBERG as soon as initial configuration of the Cisco
TelePresence Conductor has been completed. The Cisco TelePresence Conductor's
conference functionality will be disabled until this password has been changed.
Changing the admin account password
To change the password for the admin account using the web interface:
1. Navigate to
Users > Administrator accounts
.
You will be taken to the
Administrator accounts
page.
2. Click on
View/Edit
for the admin name.
3. In the
Password
and
Confirm password
fields, enter the new password, and click
Save
.
The
Password strength
box will indicate how secure your chosen password is.
Changing the root account password
To change the password for the root account:
1. Using the CLI, log in as
root
using the existing password.
2. Type the command
passwd
.
You will be asked for the new password.
3. Enter the new password and when prompted, retype the password.
4. Type
exit
to log out of the root account.
Other recommended configuration
You are now recommended to configure the following:
n
The system name of the Cisco TelePresence Conductor. This is used by the Cisco TelePresence
Management Suite (Cisco TMS) to identify the system. This can be set from the
DNS
page on the
web interface (navigate to
System > DNS
).
n
The DNS server address(es), if Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDNs) are to be used. This can
be set from the
DNS
page on the web interface (navigate to
System > DNS
).

notes (available for download from www.cisco.com) or the online help for complete information on
configuring these and all other options available on your Cisco TelePresence Conductor.
Using the web interface
To use the web interface:
1. Open a browser window and in the address line type either:

the IP address of the Cisco TelePresence Conductor
l
the FQDN of the Cisco TelePresence Conductor
The
Login
page will appear.
