OL-0991-01
General Safety Precautions and Maintenance Guidelines
Software and Network Management Requirements
The following bullets list the minimum software and network management requirements for the line card
conversion procedures:
•
IOS—Release 12.1(6)DA
•
Cisco DSL Manager (CDM)—Release 3.3(2)
Configuration Requirements
To accommodate 8xDMTs in a Cisco 6260 with a POTS splitter configuration, it is necessary to have
one of the following third-party POTS splitter configurations installed with your Cisco 6260 system:
•
One ADC Broadwire 240 POTS splitter
•
Two Corning Cable Systems (Corning) 120 POTS splitters
The Champ connector pinouts on the back of the Cisco 6260 chassis are mapped for octal-port line cards.
If industry-standard unshielded twisted pair (UTP) 50-pin Champ cables are currently used in your
configuration, there is no need to change the cables. See the
“Port Mapping of Subscriber Connectors to
Slots and Ports” section on page 15
for port mapping information.
