Conversion Prerequisites
The following upgrade kits need to be installed on your system prior to beginning these
conversion procedures:

Cisco 6130 Thermal Upgrade Kit (Part number 6130-THERMAL-UPGD)—Necessary to ensure
that your Cisco 6130 chassis can accommodate higher-density line cards (for example, 4xflexi line
cards). The following components of the thermal upgrade kit need to be installed:

Cisco 6130 chassis ventilation cover
–
New power rating label
•
Direct Connect NEBS Compliance Kit (Part number 6100-NU-01)—Necessary to ensure that your
Cisco 6130 chassis is compliant for a Direct Connect configuration.

Ferrites on the power connections cables
–
Thermal shield

Table 1 lists the tools and equipment that are required to convert from a Cisco 6130 with NI-1 card
system to a Cisco 6130 with NI-2 card system.
