Chapter 5 Installing and Removing a SIP
SIP Installation and Removal
Warning
Because invisible radiation may be emitted from the aperture of the port when no fiber cable is
connected, avoid exposure to radiation and do not stare into open apertures.
To remove a SIP, follow these steps:
Step 1
Attach an ESD-preventive wrist or ankle strap and follow its instructions for use.
Step 2
Identify the SIP to be removed and disconnect all interface cables from the ports. Be sure to note the
current connections of the cables to the ports on the SPAs installed in the SIP.
Step 3
Unscrew the captive screws on each end of the SIP faceplate (see
Figure 5-4
