If you desire to synchronize at speeds slower than 1/100sec., set the Exposure Mode Select Dial to the
"M" position (Fig. 45). Select the desired shutter speed by depressing the Manual Shutter Speed Select
Button. The shutter will be released at the selected speed (Fig. 46). Set the aperture as indicated by the f
lash unit. [Mike: this is to allow more of the background light and image appear on the film.]

1. Set the Exposure Mode Select Dial to the "X" position (Fig. 47). This sets the correct shutter
speed ( 1/100 second) on your camera for flash photography.
