Checking the Photosensor’s Setting
Perform only when the unit is
RUNNING.
Use extreme caution.
Refer to the
OPERATING PRINCIPLES
chapter, Electrical System section, Con-
trol System subsection tables to determine
the photosensor is dark or light operate.
Turn power ON at the main disconnect
switch.
Press the green Start button at either op-
erator station.
Check the CHI Panel and make sure that
all STATION LEDs are off. The display
should read:
FEEDER OFF
On the CHI Panel, press and hold the
TEST button; then, press the ENTER but-
ton. Release both buttons. The SELECT
TEST menu displays as follows:
SELECT TEST
IN12 TR12 SPR12 IRN SENSE
The flashing cursor is under the 1 of
IN12.
Press the CURSOR button until the flash-
ing cursor is under SENSE and then press
ENTER. The panel display shows:
SENSOR ACTIVATION TEST

As appropriate:
If the display does not change for
several seconds, it indicates the new
photosensor is already set to the correct
operating mode. Go to Step 14.
If the display does change to an error
message, it will be something like:
SENSOR FAILED/MISALIGNED
(105) ENTRY LEFT INLET
This indicates the new photosensor
needs to be reset to the correct operat-
ing mode. Go to the next step.
CAUTION
Do not press a red STOP
button. This will completely
shut down the machine.
Press a red Station stop button.
Press the small button at the top of the
photosensor (Figure 7-57) and hold it for
about 13 seconds until the green and yel-
low LEDs are alternately flashing.
