Remove the transfer conveyor drive belt
by slowly hand-turning the idler shaft
(Figure 7-45) and rolling the belt off.
Remove a link from the belt:
Use a pair of pliers to twist the tab of
one link until the tab can slide through
the hole in the next link.
Repeat this for the tab of the next link
so the first link can be removed.
Reconnect the belt by pushing the unused
tab through the unused hole.
NOTE: Additional belt links
can be removed if necessary to
properly tension the belt.
Roll the belt back onto into place.
Replace the cover removed in Step 3.
WARNING
Never operate the unit unless
all safety covers are in place
and all safety equipment is
working correctly.
Start the unit and check the operation of
the transfer conveyor.

Adjustment/Replacement
Tension on the transfer conveyor ribbons
cannot be adjusted mechanically because each
ribbon in the set has an elasticized insert (Figure
7-46) which makes it self-adjusting.
If these ribbons lose their proper tension and/
or begin to slip, the inserts should be replaced.
When the cotton ribbons show excessive wear,
they should also be replaced.
Required Tools
pliers
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Verify the replacement ribbons are the
correct size and of sufficient quantity for
completing the procedure. Refer to the
PARTS LIST
.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
