Slide the taper pins into
their respective holes and seat using a mallet. Install the nuts on the taper pins
finger tight.
5.
Install the six socket
head cap screws and tighten securely.
Belt Replacement and Adjustment
1.
D
isconnect the machine from the power source.
2.
O
pen the end gear cover and lower cover on the
headstock side.
3.
T
ake the tension off from the old belts by
loosening the motor mount hex nut (A, Fig 26).
4.
R
emove the belts and install new belts onto the
pulley.
5.
T
ension the belts by tightening the motor mount
hex nut until 8lbs of force causes approximately ¾” deflection on the belts.
6.
Close the end gear
door, install the cover and connect the lathe back to the power supply.
