Laying the fuel bed

The fuel bed components are packed in a separate carton,

please open this carefully as the

log shapes are fragile. Please notify us immediately if any of these shapes are damaged.

They are not covered by any warranty after they have been checked by the customer and
accepted as complete and undamaged. New fuel bed sets are available to purchase from FDC
(UK) Ltd. Also in the carton are some glass pebbles and a bag of loose vermiculite.

The glass pebbles could be harmful if swallowed, so please keep out of reach of children
and we recommend you don’t use them on the appliance if you consider there is any risk
of a child coming in contact with them.

There is no recommended layout for the fuel bed. It is entirely up to the customer to create their
own desired layout and finished look. Using the supplied fuel bed use as many or as few logs
as you wish. We recommend you lay the vermiculite on the chrome plate of the fire in a thin
layer leaving small areas on the chrome surface un-covered.  Position the logs as you wish and
if you choose to use the glass pebbles place them randomly around and between the logs.
