Please check that you have the following apparatus in the box that your line trimmer arrived in:

• Make sure you are familiar with the controls and the proper safe use of the line trimmer.
• Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the line trimmer.
• Make sure all people especially children or pets are at least 6 metres away from the cutting area. 
• Thoroughly inspect the area where the line trimmer is to be used and remove all stones, sticks,

wires, bones, string and other foreign objects.

• Before using the line trimmer always inspect it to check the cutting line is not worn or damaged.

Worn or damaged items should be replaced before use. 

• Make sure the spool is properly installed and securely fastened. Failure to do this could

cause injury.

• Make sure the guard and handle are securely attached.
• Never use metal cutting elements with the line trimmer.
• If you need to use an extension cable it must be marked as suitable for outdoor use.  
• The line trimmer user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or

their property.

Instructions

Use your Line trimmer safely

• Do not operate the line trimmer barefoot or wearing open sandals, always wear

substantial footwear and long trousers. Do not wear loose fitting clothing.

• Wear safety goggles or glasses and ear protectors when using the line trimmer. 

Use a face mask if the work is dusty.

• Do not operate the line trimmer when you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol,

drugs or medication.

• Secure long hair so it is above shoulder level to prevent entanglement in any

moving parts.

• Keep all parts of your body away from any moving parts.
• Only use the line trimmer in daylight or good artificial light.
• Avoid using the line trimmer on wet grass. 
• When trimming slopes always be sure of your footing.
• Switch the line trimmer on by following the instructions in this booklet.
• Switch off the line trimmer, unplug it and wait it has stopped rotating in the 

following instances: 

• When crossing surfaces other than grass.
• When transporting the line trimmer to and from the area to be trimmed.
• Whenever you leave the line trimmer.
• Before clearing a blockage.
• Before checking, cleaning or working on the line trimmer.
• After striking a foreign object. Inspect the line trimmer for damage and make repairs

as necessary.

• If the line trimmer starts to vibrate abnormally.

• Never carry the line trimmer by the cable or pull the cable to disconnect from the 

mains supply.

• Keep the cable away from sharp edges, oils or heat sources. Do not use the line trimmer

if the cable is damaged.

• While using the line trimmer always walk, never run.
• Only use the manufacturers replacement spools. Do not use any other cutting

attachment.

• Do not use without the guards in place.
• Hold both handles while using the line trimmer and do not raise the cutting head above

waist height. Keep the cutting head below 76cm (30 in) from the ground.
