General safety instructions
Never manipulate any of the safety features. Operate only lid and chamber of the same series. Do
not mix lid and chamber of different types or series of autoclaves.
Surfaces are hot while in operation (metal and plastic parts). Wear protective gloves.
Use only in accordance with this manual. Store the manual easily accessible to all users.
Must not be installed or used in an explosion-endangered area.
Only connect to specified main voltage.
Only for use in laboratories and operation by trained personnel. Not intended for household use.
Only for use in short time operation (max. 30 min.)
Never operate without water.
Target water fill level: 1,5 liters (min. 1 liter)
Do not autoclave tightly sealed containers (especially glass bottles) since there is no pressure
compensation.
Use only water for steam generation.
Do not release steam towards a person
–
risk of burns. We recommend connecting a temperature
resistant hose (inner diameter 10mm) to the steam release spigot to divert hot steam into a
suitable container or sink. We offer this hose and container as accessory: Art. no. 8582012 - hose
1.0m; Art. no. 8582020 - steam container.
When autoclaving liquids, there is a possibility for the liquid to boil (boiling retardation), if the
steam is released manually too fast. To avoid this, we recommend letting the autoclave cool down
to 70°C before opening the valve.
When running long time cycles, you run the risk of dry cooking and overheating. The autoclave
can be damaged. Check water level regularly.
Do not transport when filled. Do not open with force.
This autoclave must be maintained by CertoClav or authorized retailers only. Use original spare
parts only.
