All drives have four LEDs on the front panel. The LED colors and functions are summarized below.

The Status, Error, and Activity LEDs blink or go on to indicate information about the tape drive. For
more information about the “blink codes” associated with these LEDs, refer to “Blink Codes” on
page 32.
Blink Codes
Table 6 on page 32 summarizes the blink codes for the LTO-1 tape drives. Table 7 on page 33 sum-
marizes the blink codes for the LTO-2 tape drives.
