CELIER
SERVICE MANUAL
Xenon 2 RST
Aviation
General Information
Chapter 1
1.1
Introduction
This manual has been written to pass to pilots and engineers information that is essential to
correctly operate and properly handle gyrocopter Xenon 2 RST to ensure its airworthiness and
safe and effective operation.
The gyrocopter should be operated in accordance with this manual and the applicable
regulations. The owner/use of the gyrocopter is responsible for the compliance.
The gyrocopter can be used for flight only when it is technically operative and has a valid
authorization to perform flights. An authorization to perform flights is entered in the ultralight
aircraft book, which is a document identifying an ultralight aircraft and its subassemblies as well
as containing data on the record of usage.
Any modifications to the gyrocopter, made without the consent of the producer and the
aviation supervisory authority, will render this manual inappropriate for the modified specimen.
1.2
Basis for Acknowledging Airworthiness
The gyrocopter Xenon 2 RST can be used within the territory of the Republic of Poland on
the basis of the Decree of the Minister of Infrastructure dated 25 April 2005 on Excluding the
Application of Some of the Laws of the Act on Air Law for Some Sorts of Aircraft as well as
Defining the Conditions and Requirements concerning the Use of this Craft. The detailed
conditions and requirements concerning its use are set out in Annexe No. 5.
Under this Annexe, Xenon 2 RST has been classified as an Ultralight Aircraft, meeting the
following conditions (subsection 2.1.23.c): an ultralight gyrocopter - an aircraft being a rotorcraft
which gains lift in flight from the autorotation system of the rotor, is equipped with at least one
power unit ensuring independent take-off and climbing flight, having not more than 2 crew seats
and whose maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) does not exceed 495kg (for a two-seater).
For acknowledging the airworthiness of the gyrocopter, as technical requirements, the
Regulations for Constructing Ultralight Gyrocopters (Bauvorschriften für Ultraleichte
Tragschrauber - BUT) of 26 September 2001 have been adopted. For this reason, the maximum
takeoff weight (MTOM) of the gyrocopter Xenon 2 RST has been restricted in Poland to 450kg.
1.3
Directives and Announcements of Airworthiness
All applicable directives of airworthiness or other documents (notes, decrees) issued by civil
aviation authorities must be observed. Compliance with the directives should be recorded in the
Ultralight Aircraft Book (Gyrocopter Book) or approved in an equivalent manner.
