- Ensure the auxiliary handle is fitted correctly before use.
- Prepare the appliance according to the function you wish to
use:
Fitting safety devices
Fitting the disc guard (Fig.5)
- Never use the machine without guard. Keep guards in
place.
- The guard should be positioned so the closed side of the
guard points towards the operator.
- Unplug the appliance from the mains.
- Fit the collar of the guard (L) on the flange of the appliance.
- If the guard doesn’t fit in the flange, loosen the bolt (M).
- Turn the guard to the desired working position.
- To fasten the protection guard close the lever (N)
Fitting the auxiliary handle
- Unplug the appliance from the mains.
Use of the auxiliary handle is obligatory in order to ensure
greater control and safety when handling the tool. The aux-
iliary handle (B) must be screwed on to the right or left side,
depending on the type of work to be carried out.
Fitting the accessories
- Unplug the appliance from the mains.
- Block the spindle (F) by pressing the Spindle blocking button
(E). The spindle must be stopped before pressing the spindle
blocking button.
- With the Tightening key (K) remove the clamping nut (J) from
the spindle (F).
- Assemble the tool on the support plate (H).
- Assemble the clamping nut (J) using the tightening key (K).
The position of the clamping nut (J) will depend on the thick-
ness of the tool (see fig 3 and 4).
- Once the tool is assembled check if the spindle blocking but-
ton (E) has return to its original position.
Use:
- Connect the appliance to the mains.
- Turn the appliance on, by using the on/off switch.
- Be careful of the shavings that fly off. Hold the tool that so
the sparks fly away from you, other people or inflammable
materials.
- When carrying out grinding operations, it is advisable that the
angle between the surface and the disc is approximately 15º -
30º for the best results.
- When cutting, do not press on the disc. The discs should not
move sideways or oscillate. The tool should advance smoothly
at the beginning and later moderately and adapted to the type
of material. The tool should move in the opposite direction to
the advance of the disc, never in the same direction, as there
would be a risk of the machine dumping out of the cutting line
in an uncontrolled manner.
mize the risk of wheel pinching and kickback.
Large
workpieces
tend to sag under their own weight. Supports
must
be placed under the workpiece near the line of cut and
near
the edge of the workpiece on both sides of the wheel.
-
Use extra caution when making a “pocket cut” into
existing walls or other blind areas.
The protruding wheel
may cut gas or water pipes, electrical wiring or objects that
can cause kickback.
Safety warnings specific for sanding operations
-
Do not use excessively oversized sanding disc paper.
Follow manufacturers recommendations, when select-
ing sanding paper.
Larger sanding paper extending be-
yond
the sanding pad presents a laceration hazard and
may
cause snagging, tearing of the disc, or kickback.
Safety warnings specific for wire brushing operations
-
Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the brush
even during ordinary operation. Do not overstress the
wires by applying excessive load to the brush.
The wire
bristles can easily penetrate light clothing and/or skin.
-
If the use of a guard is recommended for wire brush-
ing, do not allow any interference of the wire wheel or
brush with the guard.
Wire wheel or brush may expand in
diameter due to work load and centrifugal forces.
