▪
Switch on the vehicle ignition but do
not start the engine!
▪
Wait approx. 1 - 2 minutes, then start
the vehicle. Do not engage the
ignition more than 5 - 6 seconds.
▪
If the engine does not start, wait at
least 5 - 10 minutes before restarting
the engine.
▪
Once started, leave the engine
running.
▪
Now first disconnect the black
negative (-) clamp and secure it to
the unit.
▪
Then disconnect the red positive (+)
clamp and secure it to the unit.
▪
Then switch the jump start safety
switch to “OFF”.
▪
The high power consumption of
jump starting will put a high
strain on the unit's storage battery
and partly drain it. Thus be sure to
fully recharge the storage battery
as soon as possible (see page 33).
▪
First connect the positive (+) red
positive clamp to the positive (+)
battery terminal. A positive symbol (+)
must be visible near the battery
terminal.
▪
Now connect the negative (-) black
clamp to a metal part on the
vehicle chassis or a non-moving
engine part. Do not use the negative
battery terminal unless there is no
suitable metal to connect the negative
clamp to! A negative symbol must be
visible near the battery terminal (-).
ATTENTION – risk of fatal injury! Avoid
any type of open fire and sparking
whilst jump starting and ensure
proper ventilation! Jump starting
releases explosive gasses near the
battery which could explode!
▪
Then switch the jump start safety
switch to “ON”.
ATTENTION! Do not allow the negative
and positive clamp to touch, and
the two clamps may not be connected
through other conductive materials! Be
sure the ignition on the vehicle with the
drained battery is off and all other
loads in the vehicle are off!
NOTE: the storage battery should be
fully charged when using the unit to
jump start!
