12. Reconnect indoor-fan motor leads (refer to Tables 2A

and 2B for minimum cfm [L/s] required for accessory
electric heater operation to determine indoor-fan motor
speed when connecting leads) and reinsert wire tie into
unit control box. Secure wires to control box. See
Fig. 18.

13. Connect low-voltage control circuit wiring in the low-

voltage connection box on the unit by making proper
electric connections. See Fig. 8-11.

High-Voltage Connection To Unit —

Unit wiring

must be in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC,
U.S.A. Standard) and any applicable local codes. Wiring la-
bel included with Accessory Electric Heater Kit should be
attached to base unit adjacent to base unit wiring label.

The accessory electric heater can be wired either sepa-

rately from the unit, or as one single point connection.
Determine which wiring method will be used, and follow
the correct installation procedure.

WIRING HEATER SEPARATE FROM BASE UNIT

1. Size wire for base unit and heaters per NEC. Refer to

unit Installation Instructions for wire sizing. Refer to
Tables 3A and 3B for electric heater wiring sizing and
connection diagram.

2. Run high-voltage leads for the base unit and electric heat

through the appropriate inlet hole in the duct panel, and
through the high-voltage raceway to the control box.

3. Using lugs provided, connect power supply to leads from

unit and electric heater as shown in power connection
diagram. See Fig. 19. Insulate lug. Refer to Tables 3A
and 3B for the correct power connection diagram. (Refer
to proper connection diagram — Fig. 20-25.)

4. Install dual ground lug using green ground screw in con-

trol box. See Fig. 3. Connect ground leads from base
unit power supply and electric heater supply to ground
lug.

5. Using field-supplied connectors, connect base unit power

supply to base unit power leads.

6. Replace blower/control box access panel and restore power

to the unit.
