Testing Image Quality and Accuracy
After setting up the CS 3500, you should verify the accuracy of the CS 3500, using the service
calibration diagnostic tip. We recommend that you run this test once per month.
In addition, you should verify the accuracy of the CS 3500:
•
If the CS 3500 is dropped.
•
If a restoration does not accurately fit in a patient’s mouth.
To test the accuracy of the CS 3500, follow these steps:

Firmly slide the service calibration diagnostic tip onto the end of the CS 3500. Ensure that the
arrow on the tip is pointing toward the acquisition button on the
top
of the CS 3500.

On your desktop, double-click
(
Carestream’s
CS Imaging
software,
CS Orthodontic
Imaging
software, or
CS OMS Imaging
software), or open the imaging software from within your
practice management software.

Find or create the patient record.

Double-click the patient record to access the imaging window or tab.

In the imaging window or tab, click
to open the
CS 3500 Acquisition
interface.

On the
Acquisition
interface, click
. The
Preferences
dialog box is displayed.

Click
.
The
Tools Preferences
dialog box is displayed.

Press the power button for one second to power on the CS 3500.

Click
Diagnose Scanner
. The test begins.

When the test is finished, a message is displayed, stating whether the CS 3500 has passed or
failed the diagnostic test. If the CS 3500 has failed the test, click
Create Support File
,
and save
the
.zip
file to a folder you select. Contact your local service provider for assistance before using
the CS 3500 again.
Tip:
If the CS 3500 is already powered on, verify that the
Inactive
icon is
not displayed in the lower-right corner of the
Acquisition
interface.
