9. Troubleshooting
Symptom:
Water flow from the shower filter
has reduced gradually/ after not
using it for a while
Solution :
When water pressure gradually
drops from your SIFT+ filter, it is
usually because of these reasons:
1. The filter has not been used
for several days & the sediments
trapped inside may have solidified
2. There is sediment accumulation
inside the cartridge that has
clogged the filter. This is normal in
areas with high sediment levels.
3. The cartridge has crossed its
capacity of 25,000 liters and
reached the end of its life.
Steps to Follow:
1. Vigorously shake the filter
cartridge to loosen any lumps that
may have formed inside. If clogging
still does not reduce, then
2. Please clean the cartridge by
reverse flushing (see section 7 for
more details)
3. If clogging still occurs, then a
new cartridge will be need to be
purchased.
Symptom:
Water leaks from the outer shell
joint
Solution:
This is likely due to the O Ring of the
main shell (top or bottom) not being
in position. You can re-seat the O
Ring and this should solve the leak.
Symptom:
Water leaks from the top/bottom
connectors
Solution:
If the leak is from the
top connector, you can check/re-
insert/add additional washers and
wrap the shower/tap connectors
with Teflon tape as well. Check the
washers- you may need to purchase
extra washers to get the right leak-
free fit for certain types of shower-
heads /hand showers/ shower
arms. Washers are easily available
at any local hardware shops.
