Shooting – The Basics

When the shutter sound is set to [

On, no sound will be heard.

There is no shutter sound in movie
mode.

Shots cannot be taken while the flash is

You can save the power by turning the LCD
monitor off (p. 28) and using the viewfinder to
shoot.

subject appears in the center of
the frame in the viewfinder
(autofocus range).

About the Autofocus Function
This camera employs AiAF technology
(artificial intelligence autofocus) which
uses a broad metering field to calculate
the focal distance with high precision. It
delivers a crisp focus even when the
photographic subject is slightly off-
center.

Image
Please note that the actual image may
differ from the image seen in the optical
viewfinder due to the physical
separation between the viewfinder and
lens. This is more noticeable the closer
the subject is to the lens. In some cases,
portions of images shot up close that
appear in the viewfinder will not appear
in the recorded image. Please use the
LCD monitor to shoot images up close
(p. 44).
