Office Open XML is Microsoft’s new native fully-editable file format, which has become the
default file format of Microsoft Office 2007 onwards. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series
supports the PowerPoint .pptx file format. You can scan paper documents into PowerPoint files
(pptx) and add logos, images, or text to create new presentation files. OCR can also be applied
to create a searchable text version of the document. This promotes active reuse of your original
paper documents.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series delivers
continuous copy speeds of up to 51 sheets per minute in
both color and black-and-white (A4, landscape)*, capable
of performing high-volume copies at fast speeds. First
copy output is faster than that achieved by predecessor
models. You can get your job done more quickly. In
addition, duplex copying is supported as a standard
feature.

Send Options
– Supporting a Variety of PDF File Types
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series supports TIFF, JPEG, PDF, XPS, and Office Open XML file
formats. When you choose PDF, they can specify the following PDF file types:
− High Compression (standard), which sends a PDF file in 1/10 size of the original files to make
network transfer of e-mail attachment files easier.

The Regular Copy Basic Features Screen displays preview images in the upper right
area for you to confirm the currently specified settings such as”2-Sided” and “N on 1”
in a quick glance. Plus, you can register frequently used settings in memory. This
further enhances your workflow efficiency.
From the Scan to Send Screen, you can specify sending destinations, the
resolution, file format, and other relevant settings to send your electronic document.
Plus, you can register frequently used settings as shortcuts, which you can access
from the lower right area. This further enhances your workflow efficiency.
You can copy one-sided or two-sided originals
in such a way that the copies are made into a
booklet. When the Saddle Finisher is
attached, you can choose to perform saddle
stitching.

You can automatically reduce two, four, or
eight originals to fit onto a one-sided or
two-sided copy sheet. This helps reduce
paper consumption.

Copy (Zoom) Ratio
You can enlarge or reduce originals. You can
adjust the copy (zoom) ratio automatically or
specify the copy (zoom) ratio manually in 1
percent increments.

Sending Files via a Variety of Protocols
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series supports sending via SMB for serverless file sharing
across your organization, as well as FTP. Plus, you can send files securely to external systems
via WebDAV.
The Fax Basic Features Screen provides a simple user interface for you to scan
documents and send them to specified destinations via fax. You only need to set a
document on the platen glass or in the feeder, specify a destination and required settings,
and then press the Start key, in the same way that you send a fax from a fax machine.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series supports W-NET FAX compliant with
the TTC standards (JT-T37 full mode) and is capable of full-color fax
transactions at a resolution of 600 dpi.

Document Navigator lets you easily navigate through a list of destinations in directories of
folders on your PC. You can name or search document file names easily and efficiently.
You can make your selections with one-key operation. The overall process can be simplified and
streamlined.

Useful Features
– For Sending and Receiving Faxes
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series is capable of detecting the page orientation so your documents are
automatically rotated, if necessary, before they are sent or received. You do not need to stay near the
device once your documents have been scanned if you set all the pages to be scanned first, read into
memory, and then sent. Plus, you can choose to get the sender name as well as destination information
printed as the fax header at the top of each faxed page.
You can also choose to print a received fax document on both sides of paper to reduce paper transmittal
expenses.

Super G3 Fax
– High-Speed Fax Transactions
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series provides robust fax capabilities, delivering a maximum transaction
speed of 33.6 kbps, which translates into approx. 2.6 seconds per transaction. It is capable of
electronically refining received fax data for a higher level of image quality on output, independent of the
settings specified by the sender.

G4 Fax Capabilities
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series also feature G4 fax capabilities you can transmit your document
approx. 1.8 second per transaction via ISDN. This brings remarkable cost savings and realizes stunningly

Up to 1,600 destinations can be registered

register frequently used copy settings in memory
keys. In addition, by pressing the Previous
Settings key, you can recall up to three preceding
copy jobs.
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series can forward received fax/I-fax documents to specified forwarding
destinations. Destinations can be fax numbers, e-mail addresses, shared network folders, Advanced Box,
and C-Cabinet. You can receive important documents in real time.

Forwarding Received Fax Documents
ScanToOffice Pro is a serverless MEAP application that converts paper documents scanned by
a MEAP enabled imageRUNNER ADVANCE system to various types of Microsoft file formats
including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and text and PDF. Once documents have been
scanned, ScanToOffice Pro’s powerful built-in OCR engine can detect text, images, colors,
backgrounds, and page layout automatically, to quickly and accurately convert paper documents
for active reuse.

using desktop applications and send it as a clear
fax document directly from your PC over the

Scan to PowerPoint
You can send files to e-mail destinations
directly from the imageRUNNER ADVANCE
Series as you do from your PC. With Divided
Data Destination set to On, you can split a
large file into smaller files so that they can be
easily sent via e-mail. In addition, the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series supports
the “POP before SMTP” method, SMTP
authentication, SSL encryption, etc. for
securing communication over the network.

Security Control
– For Preventing Faxes
from Being Inadvertently Sent to Incorrect Destinations
To prevent fax documents from being sent to incorrect
destinations, the Confirm Entered Fax Number feature
displays a confirmation screen when enabled. The
screen requires users to re-enter a manually entered
fax number a second time. The Address Book
Destination Restriction feature can restrict users from
adding new destinations to the Address Book, and they
are limited to select destinations registered in the
Address Book. Additionally, the imageRUNNER
ADVANCE Series is compliant with the FASEC1
security guidelines for business use of security
features.
