While lowering the down the OPEN lever, open the
reading unit.

Remove the paper that has jammed.
If the paper is jammed at the pickup area: Pull the paper forward
and clear the jam from the Maintenance Cover.
If the paper is jammed at any other area: Pull the paper forward
and clear the jam from the nearest opening.

Gently close the reading unit until it clicks into place.

Gently close the Maintenance Cover until it clicks into place.
