Tender Operation

 

 

The Rendova 12.5’ Tender:

 

1.

 

The key is in the Tender ready to turn on (electric start). 

2.

 

The battery switch must be in place ready to turn on. 

3.

 

The bilge pump, VHF radio, GPS, etc. work like you would expect. 

4.

 

The gas tank is built into the hull.  The fill is on the stern portside. 

5.

 

A full tank holds 15 gallons (full tank has approximately a 100+ mile range). 

6.

 

Extra tanks are available on the swim step. 

 

Lowering the Tender: 

1.

 

Plug in the remote control (located in a drawer behind the settee in the salon). 

2.

 

Unplug the trickle charge cable and place it in the tender. 

3.

 

Remove the two straps holding it in place. 

4.

 

Remove the shackle connected to the center bar. 

5.

 

Have lines ready to tie the tender to the small cleats. 

6.

 

Lower the tender into the water. 

7.

 

Remove the shackles from the davit. 

 

Operating the Tender: 

1.

 

It operates like any small boat. 

2.

 

Pump the bulb to prime the engine and start it. 

3.

 

Be firm with the shifter.  Move it decisively into forward or reverse to avoid grinding the gears. 

4.

 

The 50 HP is very fast…watch your speed so you don’t lose control 

5.

 

Coast Guard regulations state that any child 14 and under must wear a life jacket in a tender 

 

Storing the Tender: 

1.

 

Reverse the lowering steps 

2.

 

Plug in the trickle charge cable   

3.

 

Stow the remote control
