Anchoring
(Full Circle is too large for State Park mooring buoys)
Anchoring:
1.
The windlass uses a lot of power. All anchoring should be done with the engines running.
2.
The windlass breaker should already be on (it is in the AC panel above the washer).
3.
Windlass controls are in the following locations:
a.
Foot pedals near the windlass (lift cover).
b.
Switch on the pilothouse dashboard.
c.
Switch on the flybridge dashboard.
4.
Lower the anchor while backing the boat slowly.

Test the anchor set by backing the boat at idle using just one engine.
8.
STOP engines.
9.
Turn anchor light ON when dark. (Breaker is in the pilothouse DC panel).
10.
Four house agm batteries will supply power all night if used judiciously.
11.
Turn off unnecessary electrical appliances and AC breakers. Even unplugging appliances, not
in use, will help reduce the drain on battery power.
12.
Please use the raw water washdown to clean the anchor chain when raising the anchor.
13.
Spare anchor and rode (the rode is stored in a bucket) are located in the lazarette.
First Thing Each Day:
1.
Turn OFF the anchor light.
2.
Check battery reserve on inverter panel. If less than 12.2 volts, start the generator and turn on
the generator breaker switches.
