STANDARD WIRING DIAGRAM
All wiring should be completed by a qualified electrician
1.
in accordance with National & Local Electrical Codes.
Ensure power supply is disconnected and the unit is
2.
locked out prior to performing any electrical work.
The unit will have all power wires routed to an externally
3.
mounted wiring box. Should any components need
service, refer to the wiring diagram provided inside the
electrical box cover.
Excess wire as a result of service to the unit must be
4.
restrained cleanly and safely within enclosures or conduit
provided.
If excess wire needs to be cut, ensure you label all wire
5.
extensions prior to cutting.
In the case of the ECsmart, if you are connecting a control
6.
cable (remote or local) make sure to use a proper water
tight bushing in the control box side of the motor. See
Figures 6 & 7
or contact Canarm Ltd. for more
information.
INSTALLATION CONTINUED
The CJF with EC motor can be easily equipped with a variable speed control, or other 0-10v control system. Refer
to
Figures 6 & 7
for input locations. Always use water tight fittings to prevent moisture from entering the motor’s
control compartment.
VARIABLE SPEED CONTROL
Set the main power breaker switch to “OFF” and lockout the power supply.
1.
Check all fasteners on the unit and those that mount the unit to the ceiling. Some may have vibrated loose during
2.
the units’ move or mounting.
Remove the units’ inlet guard screen as shown in
Figure 5.
Make sure there is no foreign debris in the
3.
inlet/motor/wheel assembly. If any is found, carefully remove it.
Rotate the wheel to ensure that it rotates freely and nothing comes in contact with the housing.
4.
Inspect the unit’s internal space to ensure it is free of debris.
5.
Once fully inspected, replace the inlet guard screen.
6.
Verify branch power - make sure your motor is wired and suitable for its supply. Failure to do so may damage or
7.
cause the motor to fail prematurely.
With the units’ hardware and power supply verified, you may proceed and test the unit.
8.
Remove power lockouts and proceed with unit activation
9.
PRE-START INSPECTION
Turn the fan on and inspect for any unusual sound or vibration.
If a problem is encountered, shut off the fan and refer to the section on troubleshooting. The fan should be inspected
after 30 minutes, 8 hours and 24 hours of operation to ensure all fasteners are tight and that the unit is operating
correctly.
