9.1 VWIRE 305 sample rate

The sample rate, the rate at which the VWIRE 305 measures the vibrating wire signal, is a key
setting from which other VWIRE 305 settings and outputs are derived. The allowed sample rate is
a function of the natural-resonant frequency of the sensor. For example, if a strain gage is
designed to operate with a frequency between 500 – 1200 Hz, do not sample it faster than 50 Hz.

The following table lists the five available sample rates and their specifications. This table is
referenced throughout this manual.
