Appendix B. Terminal Mode from
Connect Screen or DevConfig
You can use the terminal mode of a CRVW3 datalogger to perform
troubleshooting and configuration of the device. You should usually have
contact with Campbell Scientific support personnel before using this feature.
The two most common ways to access the terminal mode are within
DevConfig
and using the
Connect Screen
of
LoggerNet
. When using the terminal mode in
LoggerNet
, you can make the connection to a remote station over a radio link
(i.e., without having to travel to the CRVW3 site).
In
DevConfig
, connect to the CRVW3 and choose the
Terminal
tab. Click in
the screen and press <Enter> several times. You should get the
CRVW>
terminal prompt. Type “help” and press <Enter>. A list of possible terminal
commands will be given. Choose a command, type its name, along with any
required arguments, and press <Enter>. If you wait too long between entering
commands, you will need to press <Enter> several times again to restore the
terminal session.
In the
Connect Screen
of
LoggerNet
, connect to the CRVW3 of interest. From
the
Datalogger
menu, choose the
Terminal Emulator…
item. The
Terminal
Emulator
screen will appear. Click the
Open Terminal
button. Click in the
box and press <Enter> several times. You should get the
CRVW>
terminal
prompt. Type “help” and press <Enter>. A list of possible terminal commands
will be given. Choose a command, type its name, along with any required
arguments, and press <Enter>. If you wait too long between entering
commands, you will need to press <Enter> several times again to restore the
terminal session. When finished with the terminal session, press the
Close
Terminal
button.
