3 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
3.1 Product identification
The tool identification details are indicated on the plate (5) on the handgrip,
on the tool box and in the CE compliance certificate in this manual.
3.2 Product description
The electro-mechanical, battery supplied POWER 58 unit has been created to operate harvesting tools. The scheme
“product assembly possibilities” (par. 2.1.1) shows the products compatible with the Power 58 unit. The power unit, to-
gether with the extension pole and the harvesting head are the generic combination of a complete tool for the harvesting
of olives and coffee. The power unit is fitted with an energy saving and mechanical parts protecting system, automatically
decreasing the tool speed after 6 seconds since it has got out of the branches, this way limiting its wear-and-tear. On the
contrary, when the tool penetrates the branches, it automatically reaches the selected speed again.
The unit can be operated by two kinds of 12 V battery: either a lead or a lithium battery. The latter is carried in an ergo-
nomic backpack. The battery capacity (Ampere) determines the work duration only. The power unit is composed by a
handgrip body, a gearbox and a speed controller. On the handgrip body (1) there are an ON/OFF switch (7), which starts
and stops the tool, a speed selector (8), which varies the motor rotation speed (either 1080 – 1150 – 1180 rpm) and a red
led light (9), which shows if the tool is on or off. On the body there is a connector (4), which, by means of a cable, joins
the power unit with the battery. The lead battery is fitted with a 13 m cable (14) and connecting clamps (6). The lithium
battery is fitted with a 1.5 m cable (15). On the top of the handgrip body (1) there is a clamp connecting (3) for the fixed
(12) or telescopic (11) extension pole, which transmits motion to the tool.
IMPORTANT!
In case of excessive efforts, a temporary stop of the tool could occur. This would be driven by the speed control-
ler in order not to damage the unit. After having removed the tool from the branches and having switched off and
then on the speed controller by means of the ON/OFF switch (7), the tool can be started again.
WARNING!
It is strictly forbidden to start the engine of any vehicle with the power-supply cable of the tool connected to the
battery through the clamps of the cable.
WARNING!
Please mind the tool was created for the aim indicated in this manual.
3.3 Parts supplied
•
Use & maintenance manual.
3.4 Recommended use
The tool was created to be used according to the ways and limits previously described.
WARNING!
•
Any other use has to be considered improper and potentially dangerous for the operators’ safety. This would
make any warranty claims void.
•
If it is not used for the purposes it was designed for, the tool may get damaged and cause serious injuries to
personnel and bystanders and damages to things.
